Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect easily a write error, by inputting an output of a demodulating circuit, and detecting the write error in accordance with its check code. CONSTITUTION:A serial data (1) is sent out to a modulating circuit 3 of a magnetic disk device 2 from a host device being a controller 1. The data (1) transferred at a high speed from the controller 1 is outputted as a recording data (3) modulated to an MFM system by the modulating circuit 3, and is written in a disk. The recording data (3) is demodulated by a demodulating circuit 6, and its output (4) is inputted to a checking circuit 7. The checking circuit 7 checks the input (4) in accordande with a CRC system by synchronizing with a check timing signal (2) sent out from the controller 1, outputs an error generating signal (5) to the controller 1 if an error exists, and informs that a write error is generated. In this way, the write error can be detected easily.
