Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency and to reduce the installation space of the heat exchanger by a method wherein a third fluid passage is provided through passages of fluids which exchange heat between each other, so that the heat exchanging is carried out also with the third fluid. CONSTITUTION:A high temperature gas from a combustor passes through a gas passage 1, whereas water, which is a heated fluid, flows from an inlet 8 through a circulation passage 3 and also through a header 5 on high temperature side, and finally is exhausted to an outlet flange 9. In this while, the heated fluid is heated by the high temperature gas. On the other hand, water, which is a second heated fluid, flows from an inlet 18 through a lower header 15 and a circulation passage 13 to an upper header 14. In this while, the second heated fluid absorbs heat from the first heated fluid in the circulation passage 3 to become hot water, which is accumulated in the upper header 14. When the hot water in the upper header 14 is exhausted out of a water outlet 17, fresh water is refilled from the inlet 18, which will become hot water in due course along the same process as mentioned above. This construction can improve the heat exchanging efficiency and minimize the installation space for the heat exchanger.
