Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the clogging of suction holes by deposited coke completely, by means of a coke taking out apparatus for taking out deposited powder coke, cooling the coke and discharging the cold coke provided at the bottom of the suction holes for a circulating gas of a dry quenching apparatus of coke.
CONSTITUTION: A red-hot coke charged into a cooling tower 1 of a dry quenching apparatus of coke is cooled by a cooling circulating gas blown from the bottom of the cooling tower 1, and the heated circulating gas is then sucked through a suction hole 9 and led to a heat exchanger to generate steam. The resultant cold circulating gas is then used as the circulating gas for cooling the coke. On the other hand, powdery coke deposited in suction hole 9 in sucking the circulating gas is made to flow freely through a taking out pipe 18 provided at the bottom of the suction hole 9, taken out, cooled with a water-cooled jacket 20 in an intermediate hopper 19 and finally discharged from a discharge valve 23.
