入口温度１５１４Ｆで排ガスを受けるコンバータのハウ
ジング内部位とその内面温度との関係を示すグラフであ
る。 ”１０：外ハウジング、１２：セラミック単体、１６：
半体、１６′　：端部フランジ、１６＃：リブ、１８：
支持フランジ、１８′　：孔、２０：支持フランジ、２
０’：孔、２４：金網材、２６：バンド（コーキング材
）。

  1. 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 １　復元可能に圧縮された金網のブランケットによりモ
    ノリシックなセラミック触媒を金属ノ１ウジング内に保
    持したタイプの接触コンバータにおいて、前記触媒の軸
    方向長さに沿った前記金網ブランケット内の少なくとも
    １個所に、セラミック繊維を含有し、且つ加熱によって
    膨張する膨張性材料の周バンドを、前記金網ブランケッ
    トの全厚に亘って設けることにより、前記金網ブランケ
    ット内に生ずる縦方向のバイパス漏洩を阻止したことを
    特徴とする接触コンバータ。 ２　前記膨張性材料のバンドが、雲母の粒子およびセラ
    ミック繊維を含有する実用新案登録請求の範囲第１項記
    載の接触コンバータ。 ３　前記バンドの幅が触媒の長さの１０％員工員下る実
    用新案登録請求の範囲第２項記載の触媒コンバータ。 ４　前部膨張性材料のバンドが前記コンバータの出口端
    部よりも入口端部に近い位置に設けられる実用新案登録
    請求の範囲第１項記載の接触コンバータ。
