Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the thermo-sensitive recording material, the oil resistance of a color-forming picture thereof is particularly excellent, by adding the salt of an organic carboxylic acid or its anhydride and an alkaline substance into a thermo-sensitive color-forming layer consisting of leuco dyestuffs and an acidic substance as a developer. CONSTITUTION:The thermo-sensitive color-forming layer containing the leuco dyestuffs and the acidic substance color-forming the leuco dyestuffs when heating as principal ingredients is formed onto a substrate. The salt of the organic carboxylic acid or its anhydride (such as tartaric acid) and the alkaline substance (such as potassium hydroxide) is made contain into the thermo-sensitive color-forming layer. It is preferable that at least 0.1pt.wt. or more of the salt, particularly, the range of 0.5-6.0pts.wt. one, is added per the 1pt.wt. leuco dyestuffs. When the salt is used within the range, remarkable oil resistance is obtained, and the efficiency of color formation does not lower. It is preferable that the pH of the salt is the range of 2-11, and pH 6-10 does not arouse the problem of the fog of the foundation particularly and is preferable.
