Abstract

PURPOSE:To form products by injection and compression with large thickness such as lens by providing a piston for setting up compression allowance on the side of a fixed metallic mold. CONSTITUTION:A piston 16 for setting up a compression allowance that is provided on the side of a fixed metallic mold 10 is advanced by a desired compression allowance alpha and fixed. Then a mold tightening cylinder is actuated to make the tip of said piston 16 contact a movable metallic mold 20. Next, after molten resin is injected into a cavity that is formed by cores 12 and 21 and the gate section is sealed naturally or forcibly, the piston 16 is made to retreat to the right and the fixed metallic mold 10 and movable metallic mold 20 are closed tight to compress the resin in the cavity by the amount corresponding to the compression allowance alpha. Because the resin is compressed by the force to tighten the molds, the pressure is high and because the compression allowance can be set up accurately, there is no possibility to give products over-compression or under-compression.
