Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure ion in a solution at a high speed from coexistent components other than ions to be meaured by providing an indication electrode cell in which the boundary membrane of the indication electrode section is made up of an anion exchange membrane or a cation exchange membrane according to the ion to be measured. CONSTITUTION:An ion exchange membrane 4 is spread over the bottom of an indication electrode cell 1 as an opening and an electrode liquid 5 is put into the cell 1. The internal liquid 7 the same as that in the cell 1 is put into a reference electrode cell 2 while a liquid communicating section is provided on the bottom thereof. For example, when univalent anion (Cl<-> or the like) is measured, a univalent anion exchange membrane 4 is used and a solution of KCl or the like is put into the cells 1 and 2 as the internal liquids 5 and 7.
