Abstract
PURPOSE:To restore a lining layer and improve the turnover rate of a tundish by using a core for forming lining and packing refractories between the lining layer and the core. CONSTITUTION:After residual ground metal is stripped off upon ending of casting of molten steel, the materials stuck on the wear lining layer 3' of lining refractories of a tundish are removed. Thence, a core 7 for forming wear lining is inserted into the tundish and monolithic refractories 6 are packed in the clearance between the core 7 and residual lining 3', whereby the wear lining layer is restored. Thereby, effect such as saving of disassembling work, better environment or saving of resources owing to the effective use of furnace material is obtained.
