Abstract

PURPOSE:To elevate a dispersing property of metallic magnetic powder, and to raise a magnetic quality, by dispersing metallic magnetic powder into a binding agent containing vegetable oil, and applying it on a nonmagnetic supporting body. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic coating material is prepared by mixing 1.0-5.0pts.wt. vegetable oil having 170-200 saponification value and 80-200 iodine value (example: castor oil, linseed oil) as a dispersing agent (B), a binding agent (C) (example: urethane resin, vinyl chloride resin) and a solvent (D), to 100pts.wt., metallic magnetic powder (A) (example: Fe, Co), and this coating material is applied to a supporting body. In this way, a magnetic recording body which is excellent in a magnetic characteristic and an electromagnetic conversion characteristic.
