Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to fold an A2 paper into Z-folded A4 and four and an A3 paper into two in a paper folder for transfer papers by connecting a regular/reverse feed cross-folding mechanism, a feed direction folding mechanism, and a reverse folding mechanism in series in the downstream of a feed direction folding mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: For Z-folding a paper A2, the paper is made to pass through the first pocket 7 with the first stopper 17 separated, shifted in its width in an upper feed mechanism 32, sent to the right in a lower feed mechanism 33, folded into two by the first positioning piece 42 and a blade 52, and then Z-folded into A4 by the third pocket 76 and tge fourth pocket 81. For folding the A2 paper into four, a downward guide ratchet 35 is separated, and the paper is conducted along a downward guide 31 into the lower feed mechanism 33 reversely driven, brought into con tact with the second positioning piece 43, folded into two, and then folded into four by the fourth pocket 81. For folding an A3 paper into two, the first stopper 17 of the first pocket 7 is set at the second position, and the paper is bitten at a nip part 10, and folded into two.
