Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the overflow of the adhesive and to improve the air bubble preventing effect of the adhesive layer by providing an elastically deformable adhesive movement suppressing dam strip on an adhesive overflow preventing holding member installed between the periphery of the automobile body opening and the window glass.
CONSTITUTION: A base 24 of a holding member 22 is engaged on an engaging part 20 of a car body opening periphery 3 and a window glass 1 with an adhesive 4 applied thereto is pressed against the opening periphery 3 forcing the adhesive to overflow, but such overflowing force presses a dam strip 28 to the base 24 side to elastically deform said strip 28 which applies a reaction force the adhesive 4 pressing it back. Thus the adhesive 4 moves toward a raised part 3a of the opening periphery 3 and the area around the window glass 1 and stays there to prevent the overflow of the adhesive, such reaction force also preventing the formation of bubbles in the adhesive layer thereby improving the adhesive strength and improving the productivity.
