Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the life of a capacitor before toxic gas evolves by measuring the capacity of the capacitor and comparing the same with a capacity at the life. CONSTITUTION:Before a capacitor reaches a life, its capacity increases by about 7-8%. An integral network 10 integrates the current flowing in a capacitor 3 and obtains integrated voltage F. When the voltage F and reference voltage V1 coincide, a control signal is supplied to a sample to a holding circuit 12, by which an output H is obtained. The circuit 12 is held applied with C and D which are the voltages before and after closing of a switch 2. The output H indicates the voltage at the time of constant charge and when this voltage is a certain constant value V2 or less, it indicates that the capacity is larger than a reference capacity from the basic equation of C=Q/V. Hence, H is compared with a reference value V2 by an operational amplifier 13, and when it is V2 or less, current flows to a light emitting diode 14, by which light emission displaying is accomplished and the life of the capacitor is detected.
