Abstract

PURPOSE: To pressure weld a patch to a piping by the tightening force owing to welding shrinkage and prevent the damaging of piping surface owing to restraining by putting semicylindrical patch materials oppositely on the piping, and welding groove parts.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical body of an inside diameter size slightly equal to or larger than the outside diameter of a process piping 1 is split to two, where semicylindrical patch materials 2 are formed. Next, bevels 3 are formed respectively to the end edges in the circumferential direction of the materials 2 and the patch materials are put oppositely to each other on the part to be restrained of a process piping 1. Thence, wheh the groove parts in two places are welded, the process piping 1 does not receive direct welding, and the patch materials 2 are mutually welded to themselves. Tightening force is generated in both materials 2 owing to welding shrinkage and both materials are pressure-welded to the piping 1, whereby the piping 1 is prevented from being directly restrained by restraint. In is equally well to split the patch materials 2 to ≥2 parts.
