Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the thermal efficiency of a space heating combustor using kerosine or gas as fuel and to enable the combustor to give steam contained in exhaust gas together with combustion heat to air supplied to a room to be heaed, by making a combined use of a sensible heat exchanger and total heat exchangers.
CONSTITUTION: Low-temperature outdoor air A is drawn to a burner section 3 by a fan 2 and combusted together with kerosine at the section 3. Then, exhaust gas B afte combustion is carried to a sensible heat exchanger 4, in which it is cooled through heat exchange with air E drawn from a room to be heated. Thereafter, cobustion gas C is carried into a direct contact type total heat exchanger 10, in which total heat exchange is caused between the combustion gas C and a low- temperature solution 12 of lithium chloride. Resultantly, moisture contained in the exhaust gas C is absorbed by the solution 12 of lithium chloride and discharged to the outside from an outlet port 6 as low-temperature, low-humidity exhaut gas. On the other hand, the solution 12 having absorbed moisture causes total heat exchange with space-heating air F in another direct contact type total heat exchanger 11 for heating and humidifying the space-heating air F. Solution 12 in the total heat exchanger 11 is returned to the heat exchanger 10 by means of a pump 15.
