Abstract

PURPOSE:To stick a normal polarizing plate to a liquid crystal cell accurately and automatically with efficiency, by detecting the front edge of the normal polarizing plate, peeled off from a separator, by a sensor and by sticking the polarizing plate to the liquid crystal cell by pressing it down by a laminate roller after the detection. CONSTITUTION:A sticking device 16 consists of a peeling table 41 which peels a normal polarizing plate 4b from a separator 6 made of a polarizing plate tape by folding the separator 6 along a chevron-shaped edge, a guide 42 which guides the peeled normal polarizing plate 4b so that it moves forth, a front-edge detection sensor 43 arranged in front of the tip of the guide 42, and a laminate roll 44 elevated freely to above the sensor 43. Consequently, the normal polarizing plate is detected by the sensor and then the laminate roller presses the polarizing plate down to stick it to a liquid crystal cell, thereby performig the accurate sticking operation efficiently.
