Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a steel strip having excellent bake-hardenability and tensile strength by a method wherein a steel containing C, Mn, solAl, Si and P at specified ratios is subjected to hot rolling and cold rolling, followed by recrystallization annealing in a specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:A steel containing, by weight, 0.002-0.020% of C, 0.03-0.25% of Mn, 0.005-0.200% of solAl, 0.21-1.50% of Si, 0.02-0.20% of P, with the condition of 0.8<=Si(%)+8XP(%)<=2.4 satisfied, the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities, is prepared. After conducting hot rolling and cold rolling in ordinary conditions, the steel is annealed in a box annealing furnace at a temperature of not lower than 600 deg.C, preferably in the range of 650-740 deg.C. Then, the steel is slowly cooled by apending 3-60hr for the temperature range of 500-200 deg.C where the precipitation of C occurs actively. Accordingly, a steel strip having a tensile strength of at least about 40kg/mm.<2> and excellent in press formability and shaping properties is obtained.
