Abstract

PURPOSE: To slowly bring down a rubber dam in such a way as to avoid the formation of corrugation by providing a float valve capable of opening the dam when the upstream water level of the rubber dam reaches more than a planned falling water level and also of closing it when the upstream water level is reduced below the planned falling water level.
CONSTITUTION: Under a condition that a valve 18 and a manually operating valve 23a are closed, air is supplied from a supply means 22 into a rubber dam 1 to erect the rubber dam. When the upstream water level of the dam reaches the position A of planned falling water level, a float valve 28 operates to slowly discharge air from a small diameter discharge pipeline 27, whereupon no corrugation is formed. In case where the water level is reduced below the planned falling water level before completely evacuating the rubber dam, the float valve 28 closes the pipeline 27 to enable the rubber dam 1 to keep storing a specific amount of water.
