PURPOSE:To mass-produce magnetic heads easily without using a wide-width thin belt, by forming a long-sized body by stacking amorphous metallic thin belts and by finishing it to a prescribed thickness (widthwise), and then by working the long- sized body. CONSTITUTION:Many amorphous alloy thin belts 1 are stacked and bonded together with an adhesive to form a rectangularly-sectioned long-sized body 2. The long- sized body 2 is held at the sides of flanks 3 and 4 parallel to the bonding surfaces and upper and lower flanks 5 and 6 perpendicular to the bonding surfaces, and a front flank 7 are polished to the prescribed width (a) (i.e. thickness of long-sized body 2) of the thin belt 1.
