Abstract

PURPOSE: Specific amounts of L-arginine and L-lysine are added to a physiological saline silution of gamma-globuline that is effective for treatment and prevention of various microbial infections and sufficiently low in anticomplementary activity to produce the titled preparation of high stability for a long period of time.
CONSTITUTION: To a physilogical saline solution containing 5W15W/V% of gamma globulin with sufficiently low anticomplementary activity, are added L-alginine and L-lysine or their salts so that their amounts become in the range 0.2W0.3mol/l and the pH is adjusted to 6.4W7.2 to produce the objective gamma globulin preparation for intravenous injection. The gamma globulin with sufficiently low anticomplementary activity means a product that is made by treating naturally occurring human-originating gamma globulin with, e.g., low molecular dextran and a saccharide to remove impurities of high anticomplementary activity. However, when it is added directly, its anticomplementary activity rises again and so L-arginine or the like is added as a stabilizer to inhibit the rise.
