Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a removing agent capable of combustion and regeneration and having a high heat resistance by using a crystalline silicate of a specified chemical composition as an adsorbing and removing agent for organic materials in water.
CONSTITUTION: As the adsorbing agent for adsorbing and removing organic materials in water to clarify the water, a crystalline silicate is used which has a chemical composition represented, in terms of molar ratio of oxides in the dehydrated form, by the formula (0.1W2)R2/nO.[aM2O3.bAl2O3].ySiO2, wherein R is one or more kinds of monovalent or bivalent cations, n is the valence of R, M is a trivalent transition metal cation, a+b=1, a≥0, b≥0 and y≥12. The adsorbing agent is capable of combustion and regeneration, is not degraded in performance and has high heat resistance.
