Abstract

PURPOSE:To form an inexpensive and highly reliable electrostatic charge remover for photoreceptors by using erasing lamps consisting of small-sized fluorescent glow lamps. CONSTITUTION:A glass tube 27 has internally a pair of electric discharge electrodes 28, and is sealed therein with a gas. Fluorescent paint 29 is coated on the inside wall of the tube. Lead wires 30 leading to the outside are connected to the electrodes 28. Plural pieces of erasing lamps 31a consisting of the small-sized fluorescent glow lamps formed in this way are juxtaposed together with resistances 33 on a printed substrate 32. By using such erasing lamps, the highly effective electrostatic charge remover which is inexpensive, permits instantaneous lighting and has such performance as stable quantity of light with respect to temps. is formed. It is possible to make the effect much better by making light emission wavelength shorter through selection of the fluorescent paint.
