Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the shape controlling capacity, to diminish the sheet crown and edge drop, and to manufacture a steel sheet with a good flatness, by installing a sleeve-slide type rolling mill on the upstream side of a continuous rolling mill, and a sleeve-expansion type rolling mill on the downstream side. CONSTITUTION:A rolling mill A is sleeve-slide type rolling mill in which sleeves 3, 3 are movable in the direction of roll axes. A rolling mill C is a sleeve-expansion type rolling mill in which a sleeve 13 is expandable in the directin of the roll radius. Both of rolling mills A, C have a high shape correcting function, and the rolling mill C has a quick response speed. For correcting the momentaly changing shape of a strip rolled at a higher speed on a further downstream side, the rolling mill C is suitable because of its followability. Therefore, the rolling mill A, which can cope with altered strip breadth without rearranging the rolling rolls, is installed on the upstream side of the continuous rolling mill, and the rolling mill C is installed on the downstream side. It is possible to employ an intermediate-backup-roll shifting type rolling mill for the rolling mill A to be installed on the upstream side.
