Abstract

PURPOSE:To test the fatigue characteristic of a bellow by bending moment at a high temperature with a driving means of oscillating the lower half of a support for the bellows with respect to the upper half thereof. CONSTITUTION:A lower pull rod 8 of a bellows 11 is erected on the lower half 17 of a support body 16 through a coupling 7. The upper half 18 of the support body 16 is fixed on a fixing plate 3 and the upper pull rod 10 of the bellows 11 is also mounted on the fixing plate 3 within an opening 20 of the upper half 18 of the support body 16 through a load cell 9. A piston rod 27 of a cylinder device 26 is connected to the lower half 17 of the support body 16 by way of a bending load cell 28 and a universal joint 29 so as to be oscillated with respect to the upper half 18 thereof. The bellows 11 is heated up to a fixed temperature with a heating furnace while fed with an air of a fixed pressure at the same temperature by a buffer tank 32 with a heater 33. A bending moment is applied on the bellows 11 with the reciprocating of the piston rod 27 of the cylinder device 26. In this manner, a high temperature beding test is performed repeatedly.
