Abstract

PURPOSE:To inform the calling subscriber to an incoming subscriber, by providing a voice recognizing function to the telephone exchange. CONSTITUTION:The incoming telephone is discriminated when a telephone exchange 3 detects a call. Then the exchange 3 refers to a caller discriminating voice register memory 7 and collates the calling subscriber by a caller discriminating device. Based on the result of coincidence, the voice of the caller to be called is extracted out of the memory 7 and sent to a voice answering device 6. The exchange 3 can confirm the name of the caller by transmitting the corresponding voice and the ringing tone to a telephone 1 after combining them. Thus the called subscriber can know whether the call is important or not before he or she picks up the telephone receiver.
