Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a device which can measure distances with simple constitution with high accuracy by making the reflected light from an object incident to an image pickup device by using concave mirrors and measuring the distance from the deviation direction and deviation quantity of the spot image thereof. CONSTITUTION:Spot light or slit light is irradiated to an object along the optical axis of an optical system of an image pickup device for obtaining the pattern information of the object by utilizing said device, and the reflected light thereof is made incident to the image pickup device through a pair of reflecting mirrors, which are disposed on the optical axis of said optical system and in the position apart therefrom, and at least one of which is a concave mirror. The distance up to the object is measured by the direction and quantity that the spot image or slit image deviates from the reference position in the image plane of the image pickup device.
