PURPOSE:To obtain stably a clearly printed product without causing any fouling on the ground texture of a printing material during the printing period by compounding a metal salt of phytic acid in a treating liquid for desensitization. CONSTITUTION:A treating liquid for desensitization is mixed with a compound selected from various metal salts (single or double salts) of phytic acid, in which OH groups at positions 1 and 4 of phytic acid are free and part or all of position 2, 3, 5, and 6 are bonded with a metal having a smaller chelate stability constant than that of Zn. Any metals having a small chelate stability constant than that of Zn may be employd and Mg, Ca, Cu, etc., are preferable. About 20-60pts.wt. metal salt of phytic acid is compounded with 1,000pts.wt. said treating liquid. Thus, a hydrophilic substance is quickly formed on the plate and the fouling of the ground texture of a printed product can therefore be prevented during the printing period.
