Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the heat-sealability, by laminating two plastic films having different crosslinkability and irradiating with an electron beam such that the difference in gel fractions of the laminates is at least 30-50%. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate-density polyethylene as a layer having low crosslinkability, and an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer as one having high crosslinkability are extruded by co-extrusion two-layer T-die method to a thickness of 100mu. The thickness ratio of intermediate density polyethylene/ethylene- vinyl acetate copolymer is 1/3. After this film is irradiated with an electron beam having an energy of 175keV at a dose of 10Mrad, it is stretched by heating to obtain a film having a thickness of 20mum. This resulting film is good in the heat resistance, and can be shrinked uniformly by heating.
