Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a storage battery having stabilized quality by measuring the pressure or volume of gas generating in each cell during charge and thereby detecting minor short between anode plates and cathode plates. CONSTITUTION:Occurrence of abnormality, that is, minor short is easily detected by measuring the pressure or volume of gas generating in each cell at a filler 4 installed in each cell of a storage battery 2 with an instrument 1 such as a gas pressure gauge or a gas meter as shown in the figure in the end of charge. As shown in the figure, an attachment 4 comprising an elastic material such as rubber is mounted at the lower part of the instrument 1 which contacts the filler 3, and a mark to see if it is good or not based on data is indicated on a display 5 of the instrument 1. Therefore, operation of the instrument is very easy.
