Abstract
PURPOSE:To adjust a roll cross-angle to a zero position in the end, by measuring a horizontal component of force of a roll chock generated by load of a roll, and displacing the roll chock force so that each measured value becomes equal. CONSTITUTION:On roll chocks 4a, 4b, 4'a and 4'b of upper and lower work rolls 5, 5', load meters 11a, 11b, 11'a and 11'b are provided, and horizontal components of force f1, f2, f3 and f4 of the roll chocks 4a, 4b, 4'a and 4'b, generated by load in the roll vertical direction are measured. Subsequently, the roll chocks 4a, 4b, 4'a and 4'b for supporting the rolls 5, 5' and backup rolls 6, 6', respectively are displaced back and forth in the rolling direction, so that said each measured value causes no difference. In this way, the roll cross-angle becomes a zero state.
