Abstract
PURPOSE:To automatically discriminate the types of characters, by forming and storing character codes having different kinds depending on the number of discriminated digits for numerical codes, through the operation of section keys at the input of numerical codes. CONSTITUTION:After inputting numerical data, with ten keys of an input section 6, when a decimal point key for sectioning is inputted, it is stored in a register of a CPU 1. The CPU 1 discriminates the numerals and the number of digits and when it is discriminated as a prescribed number of digits, the numerical code is regarded as a character code, the corresponding character code is read out from a memory 5, written in an X register of the CPU 1 and the character code is formed. The character codes are classified into Kana(Japanese syllabary), English letters and Kanji (Chinese character) depending on the numeral and number of digits. The CPU 1 displays the numeral and section on a display section 7 in the order of input and stores the character codes formed in the memory 5. The stored character codes are printed on recording paper at a print section 8. If there is any error on the recording paper, the codes stored in the memory 5 can be erased by operating a clear key.
