Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the detecting accuracy of the tape position and to feed automatically the tape up to the set position, by using an object to be detected which turns synchronously with a tape feeding reel shaft and eliminating an error between the actual tape position and a counter output value. CONSTITUTION:A rotary disk 2 plus detectors 3a and 3b, i.e., the objects to be detected for detection of the tape position are attached to a tape feeding reel shaft 1. The disk 2 contains a part 2a of a high optical reflection factor and a part 2b of a low optical reflection factor. the detectors 3a and 3b comprise light emitting elements 3a1 and 3b1 plus photoelectric transducers 3a2 and 3b2 respectively. Furthermore the detectors 3a and 3b are distributed so as to range tape position detection signals 21 and 22 in the phase difference 0 deg.<tape position detection signal <180 deg. respectively. An FF5 and an FF7 are actuated by the signals 21 and 22 respectively, and the tape travelling direction is discriminated. Then the relative value of the tape position is counted by a counter 11. This counted value is compared 13 with the relative value at the desired position of the set 12 tape. Thus the feed of the tape is controlled 14.
