Abstract

PURPOSE:To inform a message to the user surely, by providing a data reception circuit and a message memory to an electronic cash register at each terminal and making only the confirmation key effective when a message data is receiv- ed. CONSTITUTION:A slave cash register 2 has a message memory 20, a data reception circuit 26 where a signal from a data bus is written, and a bit memory 27 storing in 1-bit if the content is present in the message memory 20, in addition to normal devices for jobs. An exclusive data line 4 is given between the slave cash register 2 and a master cash register 1 and data are transmitted from a data transmission circuit 15 to the data reception circuit 26 at any time. A data transmission circuit 15 selects the slave cash register 2 with an input device 3 to transmit data to the data reception circuit 26. If there is a content in the bit memory 27, the confirmation key only is made effective and the content in the message memory 20 is displayed in a display circuit 24 by pressing the confirming key.
