Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the heat resistance, chemical resistance and dimensional stability, by mixing a thermoplastic polyester having an acid component consisting mainly of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and having a specified limiting viscosity, with a tri- or tetracarboxylic acid anhydride, a compound containing an epoxy group and an aliphatic unsaturated group and a photoreaction initiator at a specified ratio and molding and crosslinking the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: The following components are mixed together so that the relationships represented by formulasI, II and III are satisfied: (A) a thermoplastic polyester having an acid component consisting mainly of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, limiting viscosity 0.3W0.75, (B) tri- or tetracarboxylic acid anhydride or its mixture, (C) a compound having an epoxy group and at least one aliphatic unsaturated group stable under conditions in which the thermoplastic polyester A is present in a molten state and (D) photoreaction initiator. In the formulas, η is a limiting viscosity of the thermoplastic resin A, and B, C and D are each a mol% of component B, C or D based on total acid components of A. This mixture is molded under conditions where the thermoplastic polyester A molts, and the molding is crosslinked by irradiation with ultraviolet rays.
