Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid the direct detection of the leaking component of the magnetic flux which is imparted from an exciting coil by a detecting coil, by providing the end part of an exciting core for a sensitive body and the end part of a detecting core so that they face to each other and are shifted, and winding the exciting coil and the detecting coil at a right angle to each other. CONSTITUTION:A first closed magnetic path is constituted by combining the exciting core 12 and the sensitive body 11, and a second closed magnetic path is constituted by combining the exciting core 14 and the sensitive body 11. Part of the magnetic flux imparted by the exciting coil 13 is supplied to the second closed magnetic path. When tensile stress is acted on applying points P1 and P2 of the sensitive body 11, the sensitive body 11 is deformed, and its cross sectional are is reduced. Said reduction results in the reduction in magnetic resistance, and the magnetic flux passing the detecting coil 15 is changed. Said change is detected across both ends t3 and t4 of the detecting coil as a change in the value of an induced voltage. Thus the value of the tensile stress imparted to the sensitive body 11 can be measured.
