Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce quantity of replace information and to simplify the replace processing circuit, by deciding necessity of changing block numbers to be replaced of the buffer memory by comparing them with reference block numbers after they are predicted and stored. CONSTITUTION:A block number which is to be replaced at the next loading from a main storage device 1 to a buffer memory 2 and which is considered to be the oldest in the memory 2, is decided as a replace number, and this is stored in a replace storing circuit 5. Under this condition, a referred data block number of the memory 2 is impressed upon a comparator 5 and compared with the information read out from the circuit 5. When they coincide with each other, a coincidence signal from a comparator 4 is outputted to a predicting circuit 6 and the circuit 6 is started. When, for example, the circuit 6 is (+n) system, the data block number of a place where the (n) is added to block numbers separated by an array distance of (n), is predicted as the replace number and writing into the circuit 5 is performed.
