Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance durability and transmission efficiency of a V-belt by connecting the oil line, tying the lockup valve and lockup device, with the line pressure regulator valve in such a way that the line pressure will be higher in non-lockup condition than the lockup condition. CONSTITUTION:Lockup valve 108 is changed over with the aid of a pilot pressure which is taken from the oil pressure in the drive pulley cylinder chamber 28, and the lockup device is set in non-lockup condition by leading the oil pressure to the oil line 148 when the oil pressure in the drive pulley cylinder chamber 28 is low while the device is put in operation by draining the oil line 148 when the oil pressure in the drive pulley cylinder chamber 28 is high. This oil line 148 is connected to a port 118e of the line pressure regulator valve 102 to increase the line pressure by means of acting on the differential area between the lands 132d and 132e of a spool 132 at the time when oil pressure is introduced to the port 118e.
