Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate automatic charging, improve a fitting property, reduce the imperfect registering during printing, and thus enable clear and stable printing, by using a plain fabric wherein the surface roughness of the back surface of a base material serving as a surface contacting with a plate cylinder has a specified or higher value. CONSTITUTION:The texture of a plain fabric 1 woven with warps 1a and woofs 1b of 50-300 pieces/25.4mm. being perpendicular to each other is impregnated or coated with resin (e.g. gelatine, casein, PVA or the like) and set, whereby a resin layer 2 is formed. At the back surface of this resin layer 2, the warps 1a and the woofs 1b are exposed in part 1c and uneven surfaces 2a are formed, while the front surface of the resin 2 covers the warps 1a and woofs 1b of the plain fabric 1 completely and thus a smooth surface 2b is formed. The back surface serves as a surface contacting with a plate cylinder, while an image-forming layer is formed on the smooth surface 2b. This constitution facilitates automatic charge on a printing machine, improves the fitting property to the plate cylinder, reduces the imperfect registering during printing, and enables clear and stable printing.
