Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a core for a rotary electric machine by aligning and laminating punched ion core plates with slots formed at the outer diameter portions of the core of the iron core plates as references, thereby eliminating the deviation in the thicknesses of the core plates. CONSTITUTION:When a core material is fed under a stripper 5, an upper die holder 4 is lowered and becomes the state to be punched, and a core material is punched only by a punch 9a contacted with the part to be mostly increased in thickness of a backing plate 13 of four punches 9a-9d. Then, a pulse motor 17 is driven and the core material is then punched sequentially with the punches 9b-9d which are displaced by 90 deg., and slots are formed at the opened portions. The punched iron core plates are aligned with the slots as references and are laminated, thereby forming a core.
