Abstract

PURPOSE:To compensate for the fourth vertical distortion by providing an auxiliary coil with a winding angle of about 30 deg.C on the screen side of a saddle- shaped horizontal deflection coil. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary coil 11 is connected to a flange section 17 on the screen side of a saddle-shaped horizontal deflection coil 16 of a normal convergence free type deflection unit. The auxiliary coil 11 is composed of a normal saddle-shaped coil, and a winding angle theta for centers of gravity 14, 15 of straight line sections 12, 13 is formed at about 30 deg., thus the fourth vertical distortion can be compensated to the minimum.
