Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture plural hot strip products having different kinds highly efficiently, by parallelly arranging a roller guide type continuous casting equipment and a rotary belt type continuous casting equipment in the same hot rolling line. CONSTITUTION:A continuously cast slab of special steel or ordinary high-class steel is manufactured by a roller guide continuous casting equipment and is cut to a fixed length by a torch cutting device 12 and then the cut slab is transferred to a table 14 located at the inlet side of a heating furnace 15 which is capable of reversible running, through a roller-table car 13 and is heated to about 1,200 deg.C in the furnace 15. The slab from the furnace 15 is manufactured to a hot strip product by a hot rolling line consisting of a group 17 of roughing mills, a crop shear 18, and a finishing mill 19, through a table 16 located at the exit side of the furnace 15. On the other hand, comparatively low class ordinary steel is formed into a continuously cast slab by a rotary belt type continuous casting equipment 21 having high casting speed, and then is cut to a fixed length by a torch cutting device 22, thus the cut slab is heated by the heating furnace 15 to be fed to the rolling line.
