Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled composition providing a film having improved toughness, transparency, water resistance, alkali resistance, etc., obtained by emulsifying a polyol having urethane bonds and urea bonds in a molecule and a compound consisting of block isocyanate.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A polyol[e.g., one obtained by reacting a polyalkylene ether polyol with an organic diisocyanate, and, if necessary, a low-molecular weight active carbon compound and a catalyst for preparing urethane in an equivalent ratio of NCO/OH of <1]having two or more urethane bonds and/or urea bonds and two or more active carbons in a molecule on the average is blended with (B) a block isocyanate blocked by a blocking agent (e.g., phenol, etc.) in an equivalent ratio of active hydrogen to blocked NCO group of 0.5W1.5. The blend is dispersed into water and mixed with a surface active agent (preferably nonionic surface active agent), to give the desired composition.
USE: A coating compound for a substrate curable under heating.
