PURPOSE:To safely operate the commutation of a converter by feeding back the secondary induced voltage of an AC motor to the magnetic flux control circuit of the motor and providing a closed loop compensating circuit to equalize the secondary voltage to the prescribed secondary induced voltage reference CONSTITUTION:The secondary induced voltage e2 of an induction motor 13 is detected, and is calculated and amplified by an arithmetic amplifier 30 so that the voltage e2 becomes equal to the secondary induced voltage reference e2* obtained by the product of a speed feedback signal¦Wm¦and calculated secondary magnetic flux value phi2, and the magnetic flux reference signalI1d* is compensated by closed loop with the output of the amplifer 30. When the magnetic flux weakening abrupt acceleration or deceleration is performed for the motor 13, the secondary induced voltage e2 of the motor 13 becomes constant in the weakening range, and accordingly the terminal voltage becomes as rated, thereby safely performing the commutation operation of the converter.
