Abstract

PURPOSE:To apply muting to the video signal with a low level for the time until an AFC of a monitor reponds and to reproduce a natural image through a simple circuit, by gradually increasing the DC level for muting from the time wherein the muting release signal is supplied from a muting control circuit. CONSTITUTION:The video signal amplified by an RF amplifier 2 is applied to a separating circuit 3 and an RF output detecting circuit 6 and then demodulated through an FM demodulating circuit 4. The demodulated luminance signal is connected to the reproduced chrominance signal which is extracted by an LPF10 by a mixer 11. The reproduced video signal given from the mixer 11 is supplied to a monitor via a muting circuit 13. At the same time, the demodulated signal given from the circuit 4 is applid to a synchronizing signal separating circuit 7 to separate the synchronizing signal. Then the output given from a synchronism detecting circuit 8 is supplied to a muting control circuit 9 while the synchronizing signal exists, and the output of the RF is applied to the circuit 9 from the circuit 6. The muting DC level is gradually increased from a time point when the muting release signal is supplied to the circuit 13 from the circuit 9, and the muting is applied with a low level to reproduce a natural image.
