Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve size distribution of stuff cast into a furnace by dividing a rotary chute of a casting device at the top of a bell-less furnace into a main body and a tip part so as to allow its free slanting motion.
CONSTITUTION: A rotary chute 6 is divided into a main body 6A and a tip part 7A which is made vertically rotatable with respect to the body 6A by means of a pin 11. Further, a fixed point 14 provided on a bracket 13 rotating around a furnace center 12, a pin 15 provided on the side of the main body 6A and a pin 16 provided on the side of the tip part 7A are connected by means of a link mechanism. When the chute 6 is put into slanting motion, the tip part 7A can change an angle α of slanting motion in accordance with an angle θ of slanting motion of the main body 6A. In case the angle θ is wide, the tip part 7A stretches instead of making a slanting motion so that raw material may be cast closely to an interior wall of a furnace. In case the angle θ is narrow, the tip part 7A declines so that expansion of width of a locus for the raw material dropping may be prevented.
