Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform an efficient control, by cnnecting the output of the secondary side of a transformer, which generates voltages of square waves different in phase, to two main windings of a saturable reactor and by giving a control voltage to a control winding to control the magnetic flux saturation time of the reactor. CONSTITUTION:A DC voltage VIN is applied to the primary winding of a transformer 1 to generate voltages V1 and V2 of square waves different in phase are generated in the secondary side of the transformer by the switching control of transistors TRs 3 and 4. The output of the secondary side of the transformer 1 is connected to one end of two main windings Wa and Wb of a saturable reactor 2, and currents flowed to windings Wa and Wb are made uniform by diodes D1 and D2, and control currents are given to respective control windings Wc1 and Wk2, thus controlling the magnetic flux saturation time. The reactor 2 consists of an iron core havig a center leg and two side legs, and main windings Wa and Wb which excite the iron core in directions opposite to each other alternately are arranged on the center leg, and control windings Wc1 and Wk2 are wound around side legs in the direction where generated AC voltages are cancelled by each other.
