Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for operators and to make constitution simple by controlling a solvent supply pump of an oil content meter with the navigation speed signal detected with the ship speedometer of a tanker and obtaining the discharge rate of oil per unit distance from the output of the oil content meter. CONSTITUTION:The sampling pump 14 of an oil content meter 11 is controlled by the ballast displacement water flow rate signal Q detected speed with a flowmeter 12 and a solvent supply pump 15 by the navigation speed signal V detected with a ship speedometer 13. More specifically, the pumps 14, 15 are so controlled as to have the relations q1 Q, q2 V where the sampling rate of the pump 14 is defined as q1, and the solvent supply rate of the pump 15 as q2. The sample drawn with the pump 14 is ballast displacement water, and for example, carbon tetrachloride is used for the solvent supplied from the pump 15. An extractor 16 mixing and extracting the ballast displacement water and the solvent, a separator 17, an IR analyzer 18 and an integrator 19 are provided.
