Abstract

PURPOSE:To make productivity excdllent and to reproduce on recording paper a highly precise picture of fine quality by setting recording units constituting each head in positions made different by lines along the main scanning line. CONSTITUTION:The first and second resistance zones 11 and 12 constituting heating bodies for recording are set in parallel at a small interval in such a manner that they extend in the direction of the main scanning line which is the direction of the width of the recording paper perpendicular to the direction of movement of the recording paper shown by an arrow. These resistances zones 11 and 12 have lengths equivalent to the main scanning line and the interval between them is set so as to accord with a subscanning distance along which the recording paper moves in a period of one main scanning line. In the respective resistance zones 11 and 12, segment electrodes 13a, 13b..., 14a, 14b... connected to outside lead wires respectively are provided so as to divide the lengthwise direction, and furthermore, common electrodes 15a, 15b... and 16a, 16b... are provided so as to divide the interval between the respective segment electrodes into two.
