Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a hard prolonged release type composite having a long prolonged releasing time of a physiologically active substance, by molding a system consisting of a heat denaturing protein, a mixed solution of water with an organic solvent and a physiologically active substance into a suitable shape, and heat-treating the resultant molded material.
CONSTITUTION: A system consisting of 10pts.wt. heat denaturing protein, e.g. albumin, γ-globuin or hemoglobin, with 0.01W10pts.wt. mixed solution of water with an organic solvent and 0.01W50pts.wt. physiologically active substance is molded into a suitable shape, and the resultant molded article is then heat- treated at room temperature W100°C to give the aimed prolonged release type composite. The prolonged release type composite prepared by using the mixed solution of water with the organic solvent has remarkable improved prolonged releasing properties compared with that of the water alone, and improved properties such as a slight porous structure formed in the composite. The heat treatment and the light or ionizing radiation provide better effects. Preferably, the mixed solution is used in an amount of 0.5W1pt.wt. based on 1pt.wt. water.
