Abstract
PURPOSE:To cleanly strip paint by allowing liquid nitrogen to contact with the paint, and causing a volume change between the paint and a body by the latent heat and sensible heat of the liquid nitrogen. CONSTITUTION:A number of nozzles 4 which spray liquid nitrogen 3 are provided in suitable positions within a heat insulating box 2 which extends over a surface 1 to be painted and closely contacts said surface. These nozzles 4 are concentrated at one place by a nozzle piping 5, which is connected to a liquid nitrogen vessel 7 by means of a piping 6. Liquid nitrogen which is low temp. liquefied gas is stuck directly on the paint film surface, and a volume change is caused between the paint film and the body by the latent heat and sensible heat of the liquid nitrogen, by which the paint is stripped cleanly.
