Abstract
PURPOSE:To compensate the effect of dirt by using a photocell which receives the scattered light from dirt particles and a photocell which receives the reflected light from the dirt attached on an optical surface. CONSTITUTION:Light is emitted from a light source lamp 13 into specimen liquid. The photocell 4 receives the reflected light from the dirt 12 attached to a window member 8 and the scattered light from the dirt particles 2. The photocell 5 receives only the scattered light from the dirt particles 2. The ratio of both photocells 4 and 5 is obtained by dividing circuit 9 and the difference is obtained by a subtracting circuit 11. A reference difference DELTAM, which is obtained when the dirt does not exist in a setting device 13 beforehand, is subtracted from the difference DELTAS, which is obtained in said circuits, in a comparator 14. The resulting value is proportional to the dirt 12. Therefore, when the output of the dividing circuit 9 is compensated by said value, the concentration of the dirt particles 2 can be accurately measured regardless of the dirt 12.
